Christ Episcopal Church, PoughkeepsieLichten Craig Donaldson Architects

Starting with a Conditions Survey and Master Plan, Lichten Craig Architecture & Interiors and Lichten Craig Donaldson have served this pre-Revolutionary War parish for almost fifteen years. As a symbolic first public gesture of a new capital campaign and commitment to the larger community, the skyline-dominating tower was restored. This effort included repointing, masonry cleaning, repairs and carving of new sandstone units. Concurrent and more recent work includes renovation of the parish house, exterior envelope repairs and restoration, flood-damage recovery, and new drainage and landscaping. Presently, master plan work is focused on upgrades to the worship space lighting and renovations for liturgical flexibility. Throughout this work, Lichten Craig Donaldson has worked closely with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Services included assistance in obtaining funding from both agencies.
